This issue of the Israeli Affairs Journal focuses on “Israel and the regional context post Arab revolutions”.
The issue contains nine articles, of which six consider regional factors that are influencing the balance of powers in the Middle East. The articles explore the extent to which shifting internal transformations of powers in the region impact upon foreign policies, particularly toward Israel, and generally toward new potential regional alliances. The implications of internal developments in Iran, Turkey, Egypt, Lebanon, and Syria on their relationship with Israel and Israel’s relations with them are thus explored.

This issue of the Israeli Affairs Journal focuses on “Joint Political Actions of Arabs and Jews in Israel”.
The issue deals with many controversial matters in the midst of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The issue incorporates eight articles, of which six are themed around the achievements, impacts and impediments of, and to, Arab–Jewish joint political actions in Israel. In addition, themed articles explore bi-national and international struggle, while the advantages and disadvantages of joint political actions are also discussed. Finally, an article is presented that explores Zochrot (memories) experience in the context of challenging the exclusive definition of the state of Israel as a “Jewish-only” state.

Themed articles explore different features of Israeli theatre and music, and discuss the relationship between culture and ethnicity. Articles include a study indicating discourse transformation of Palestinian intellectuals (in the 1948 area) and an article questioning the Mizrahi in Israeli literature and another discussing the image of women in Israeli cinema.
