Issue #49 of Qadayya Israelieh (Israeli Affairs) Quarterly Journal focuses on the Israeli left: where was it and where is it now?
The issue is centered on the emergence of the Israeli left and the major reasons that have been hindered it from becoming influential in decision making, political and social movements. The issue includes ten articles eight themed on the Israeli plus a study about the creation of an Israeli underclass and, an article about the Israeli elections .

Issue #48 of the Qadayya Israelieh (Israeli Affairs) Quarterly Journal focuses on the present and future prospects of Civil Society in Israel. Themed articles explore how the Arab and Jewish Civil Society has developed historically in Israel, and sheds light on the key factors that hinder its development into an influential body in social movements. An exclusive interview with Tmaar Herman, a researcher in the Israeli Institute for Democracy, emphasises that it is difficult to indentify civil society movements that are looking to bringing about a fundamental change in Israel.

Issue #47 of Qadayya Israelieh (Israeli Affairs) Quarterly Journal focuses on economic policies and the neo-liberal ideology in Israel. Themed articles explore how various walks of life in Israel, including the private versus the public sector, the education system, taxes and land sectors, and the health care system, are being transformed by neo-liberal economic policies. In addition, attention is paid to the effect of economic policies on the Israeli political decision making , and the role of the Israeli media in the promotion of neo-liberal economic thinking.

This issue presents Israel’s different approaches to how it deals with the Arab Spring, at the levels of governmental institutions, active political forces among Palestinians inside Israel, and some of the active forces among the Sephardic community.
ABSTRACT
This issue of Qadayya Israelieh (Israeli Affairs) Journal focuses on the Israeli social protest movement that took place last summer (2011).
The articles review the protest movement that was launched under “the people demand social equality” slogan, and discuss the tools that were used in the organization of the protest movement and its effects on the reproduction of social order. Also, the researchers touched, each from a different perspective, on the implications of the movement on the society and state.
