This book is a compilation of the proceedings from a study conference organized by MADAR in May 2017 and edited by Husam Jeryiss. It is divided into four chapters. The first chapter serves as an introduction, outlining the primary features of the Palestinian economy in Israel.
The second chapter contains four research papers presented at the conference. These include Emtanes Shehadeh's study on Israeli policies towards the Arab economy in Israel over the last decade, Husam Jiryes's analysis of economic indicators affecting Palestinians' daily lives in these territories, Emad Jaraysi's exploration of the realities and potential of Palestinians in the hi-tech sector, and Husam Jiryes's examination of the banking and financial services available to Palestinians.
Chapter 3 includes personal accounts from two notable businessmen who spoke at the conference. Issa Khoury, originally from Al-Birweh village, shares his journey of overcoming displacement, poverty, military rule, and political persecution to become a successful entrepreneur. Ziyad Hanna, a renowned professor in the hi-tech field from a displaced family from Iqreth, now residing in Rama village in Galilee, discusses his experience as a leading hi-tech entrepreneur.
The final chapter summarizes the concluding session of the seminar, featuring discussions with Mohammad Barakeh, Head of the Joint List, and Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, Chairman of the PIF.
