Bill Seeks to Imprison Entities that Attack Israeli Policies in International Arenas

Proposed Laws

(A bill prohibiting the hoisting of the flag and emblem of a state considered to be hostile to Israel)

Initiator: Robert Ilatov and others from the Yisrael Beiteinu (Israel Our Home) Party
Bill No. 4520/20/F

MK Oded Forer and others from the Yisrael Beiteinu Party proposed a bill, prohibiting the use of the flag and emblem of a state considered to be hostile to Israel. The explanatory note to the bill addresses organisations which, by definition, Israel considers as “terrorist”.

After the Oslo Agreements were concluded and the Palestine Liberation Organisation recognised, the Israeli legal prohibition on hoisting the Palestinian flag was removed. The Palestinian flag was raised at Israeli institutions in political encounters held in the context of the negotiation process.

Initiators
In addition to Ilatov, the bill was initiated by Hamad Amar, Yulia Malinovsky and Oded Forer, all members of the Yisrael Beiteinu Party.

Prospects of the bill
It is possible to submit the bill at the current 20th Knesset.
