A bill obliging the government to keep its promises regarding construction plans (i.e. settlements)

Proposed Laws

(The bill is more akin to a position announcement that to a would-be applicable law. It obliges the government to keep its promises regarding construction plans in all areas. However, the bill provides that it will be applied to the occupied West Bank)

Initiator: Yoav Kish from the Likud Party
Bill No. 4355/20/F

MK Yoav Kish from the Likud Party and Bezalel Smotrich from the Jewish Home Party proposed a bill, obliging the government to keep all its promises in relation to construction plans. It provides that the bill will be applicable to the occupied West Bank

Prospects of the bill
This bill is more characteristic of a political discourse than being an applicable law. No government can confine itself to such a law, which obliges it to categorically keep all promises regarding construction plans in all areas. This issue is linked to a series of factors. Hence, it is unlikely that the bill is enacted into a law.
