A bill annulling the High Court’s right to revoke decisions of the Central Election Commission to refuse nomination of persons and parties

Proposed Laws

(A bill denying family visits to prisoners if they are members of an organisation that detains Israeli captives)

Initiator: Oren Hazan from the Likud Party
Bill No. 4349/20/F

MK Oren Hazan from the Likud Party proposed a bill, providing for denying family visits to Israeli prison if prisoners are members of an organisation that detains Israeli captives.

Prospects of the bill
This bill was proposed in the last three parliamentary terms, starting with the 18th Knesset. At the time, Benjamin Netanyahu was Prime Minister. The government replied that it preferred to keep control of these conditions so that it could act freely as the circumstances dictate. Hence, it is not clear whether the current government would change the position declared by the former government.
