This issue of the Newsletter covers the period 28-31 January 2018. Israeli social media networks were mainly preoccupied with two issues: (1) the Polish law which incriminates anyone who holds Poland responsible for Nazi atrocities; and (2) recordings revealed by an Israeli website, showing Prime Minister’s wife, Sarah Netanyahu, while she was infuriated.
Israeli social media platforms deplored a Polish draft law, which incriminates any indication that Poland bears the responsibility for the “Nazi atrocities”, which were perpetrated in the Polish territory. Before WWII has erupted, Poland was home for the largest Jewish community (3.2 million) in Europe.
Israeli social media networks extensively highlighted and denounced the draft law, demanding that it be reversed by the Polish government.
This week, Israeli media outlets released an audio recording of the Israeli Prime Minister’s wife, Sarah Netanyahu, in which she hysterically yells at a family advisor. Recorded in 2009, the telephone conversation shows Sarah Netanyahu’s voice, when she was infuriated by an article on her participation in a charitable event to support low-income students. In that article, the correspondent did not mention that Sarah Netanyahu was a psychologist.
