A weekly newsletter monitoring key issues in the new media of Israel 29 November - 03 December 2017

This bulletin covers the period between 29.11.17 – 3.12.17 during which the Israeli digital world buzzed with two main issues; the first was the repercussions of the Recommendations Law, while the second was the incident in Al Kasra village where a Palestinian was martyred.

A still very much debated topic on numerous digital outlets is the Recommendations Law, which bans the Police from making recommendations on indictment to the Attorney General. There were wide calls for a massive demonstration to take place in Rotshield’s Boulevard in Tel Aviv, Saturday evening, to protest against the law.

The other issue that was widely discussed on the digital world was the martyrdom of young Mahmoud Oda, in the village of Kasra, who was shot dead by an Israeli settler. People were divided between those who attacked the inhabitants of Al Kasra and accused them of terrorisim, and those who defended them and said that the settlers acted to provoke the Palestinians which resuolted in confrontations and the killing of a young Palestinian man.
