MK Shuli Mualem of the Jewish Home party and MK Robert Ilatov of the Yisrael Beitenu party submitted a bill, which provides for granting absolute immunity to all soldiers, employees or volunteers of security units if they commit crimes against Palestinians during operations or even training exercises. Accordingly, these personnel will not be suspects or brought to court except in a special case, which an ad hoc committee approves.
Such a bill will be problematic from the perspective of international justice. Hence, the possibility of enacting this bill into a law will be essentially associated with a political decision to be made by the Ministry of “Security” or intelligence agencies.
