Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged to release the Israelis detained by Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Netanyahu indicated that he would use the corpses of five martyrs of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, which Israel detains, as a pressure card.

In press statements he made in a visit to Migdal HaEmeq (Majdal) city on Monday, Netanyahu said he would not offer any “free gifts to the enemies of Israel.”

Netanyahu added that the government had two key tasks: protect the state and build the land. “We are doing these two things at once. We are protecting the land along the lines of a simple rule: whoever tries to attack us, we will attack them.”
