Since the night of May 11, 2021, the city of Lod has been experiencing violent confrontations between Arab and Jewish residents. Activist Ghassan Mounir, a resident of Lod, provides a detailed account of the events from the onset of the clashes. Mounir explains that while the Sheikh Jarrah case and the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque acted as catalysts, the uprising was fueled by deep-seated grievances and systemic inequalities imposed by the apartheid regime over decades.
